LIP BLUSH TATTOO BEFORE CARE:
If you suffer from cold sores, talk to your doctor for a prescription cold sore medication. you need to be taking an antiviral like Acyclovir at least 2 days prior to your appointment and continue to take it 5 days after your procedure.
No filler in lip area or injections 3 weeks prior to procedure, if lips have been injected prior to lip blush wait a minimum of 3 weeks to get procedure done.
No deep exfoliation 3 weeks prior (ex. chemical peel)
No antibiotics 2 months prior
hydrate and exfoliate a few days prior.
LIP BLUSH TATTOO AFTER CARE :
Swelling is normal after the procedure. Is recommended that ice packs be applied for 10-15 minuets each hour for the first 48 hours following the procedure.
Make sure hands are clean before you touch your lips
Let the skin naturally go through the healing and recovery process by applying only the moisturizer provided.
A very thin layer of provided moisturizer / A&D ointment should be applied consistently throughout the day to the treatment area using a fresh Q-tip (DO NOT use mineral oil or any petroleum products such as Vaseline.) Applying too much ointment can lead to fading, so a thin layer goes a long way. This will keep the area moist and accelerate the healing process.
Please remember this is a new tattoo and should be cared for like an open wound. Do not over saturate with healing balm and do not let the lips get too dried out either.
Apply a ticker coat of ointment to the treated area only before bathing, washing areas near the mouth and right when you wake up in the morning. When brushing your teeth for the first five days, use a minimal amount of toothpaste. Toothpaste and mouthwash are considered “soap” and will remove lip color.
Repeat for 5 days.
LIP BLUSH TATTOO AFTER CARE Things to Avoid:
No application of any lip makeup for 1 week other than the healing balm that is given to you.
No scratching, picking or licking of dry skin or flakiness.
No super spicy foods during the first 24 hours. Use a straw when drinking liquids; avoid biting into foods that might cause friction to the lips.
No foreign body fluids in or around the lips for 7 days.
No activities that will cause extreme sweating for 7 days.
No swimming pools, hot tubs or other bodies of water for 7 days.
No UV exposure (including tanning booths) for 7 days.
No laser light therapy, as it can darken/lighten or distort the pigment of the lip color.
No exfoliants, retinol acids, glycolic acids and alpha hydroxy acids on the area for 30 days after the appointment (causes premature fading).
No massages, facials or skin treatments for 2 weeks
No vaseline, Neosporin, or any other petroleum based products.
LIP BLUSH TATTOO After You've Healed:
Lip tattoos normally last 2-3 years depending on lifestyle, skin type and aftercare.
Exposure to the sun and tanning beds can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment. Once completely healed, always apply sunscreen (20 SPF or greater) on lip area.
Avoid using chemical exfoliants on the lips, as it will cause fading.
Do not do laser near your lip area (ipl). Some lasers may change the color of the ink.
Additional lip makeup application may still be required post tattoo to achieve your desired look. Lip color tattooing is meant to look natural and add a flushed look. It will not replace lipstick.
Avoid any injectables for 30 days.
